This melting pot is great for making cake pops, chocolate covered pretzels, and chocolate covered strawberries. Before I got this pot I melted chocolate in the microwave and it would get cold and harden pretty quickly. This melting pot keeps your chocolate warm and silky, and prevents it from burning. It is also very easy to clean and heats up quickly. It has saved me so much time making chocolate covered treats and is much more effective.

This melting pot is fantastic. The chocolate warms up quickly and stays warm, with easy clean-up afterwards. I used Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate melting chips and mint chocolate Oreos to dip. It was an amazing combination! If you remember the Mystic Mint cookies you used to be able to buy, these taste JUST like them. So good and easy to make with this pot.

I made chocolate covered pretzels for a party and this warmer was great! I would recommend using this instead of just a normal pot. It was easy to clean, and holds about one bag of chocolate. It only takes a few minutes to melt. The silicon material makes everything easy.

I purchased this product about five years ago. I don't use it often, usually just around the holidays. This year I "fired" it up and I thought I had a problem with the chocolate the first time but my second try with new chocolate it's barely heating it up. I've been waiting about two hours and my chocolate is still lumpy on the high setting. I'm not sure how long we should expect appliances to last these days but with such little use it should be much longer than five years.

This works GREAT using regular grocery-store baking-aisle chocolate-chips. I was worried special "melting wafers" would be required, but no, regular Toll House/Kroger and Ghirardelli chocolate works just fine! I've used both semi-sweet and white chocolate chips. As per the directions, it does take about 20 minutes to melt a pot-full of it, so plan your timeline accordingly, but it keeps it melted without issue and is really easy to work with and clean. I love the plastic insert -gt; it makes it so much easier to clean. Popping off the residual chocolate is just as easy as it's advertised. I can't speak to the lifespan, but I imagine it's pretty simple electronics and should last a long while. I'll come back and update this if it breaks/burns out in the near future. In summary: If you occasionally play with melting chocolate, dipping or drizzling, THIS IS GREAT. My biggest regret with this, is that I didn't buy it sooner.
