Mission: To provide clean and lasting water to those who have none as the beginning of permanent community change.

Results: Estimated that over 270,000 people now have access to clean water because of our installation of water systems in Kenya and Tanzania.

Target demographics: Well Aware is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with headquarters in Austin, Texas that provides innovative and sustainable solutions to water scarcity and contamination in Africa. We fund and implement life-saving water systems to drive economic development and build self-sufficient communities.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Since 2010, we have directly impacted more than a quarter of a million individuals.

Programs: Our teams are innovative and evolving. Since we do it all—fundraising, operating, implementing, training, and community education--and providing follow-up— we have a working knowledge of technological, environmental, and cultural influences and limitations. Our team constantly tracks data from the field, and we tweak and improve our methods accordingly. Water systems, hygiene, and sanitation while providing technical and environmental expertise and impact measurement. We work with communities, not for them. Our team understands that the communities in which we work know better than anyone else what they need, and we listen.
