This driver is driven by a powerful magnet structure that includes an aluminum shorting ring to ensure good efficiency and low distortion. Its 32 mm diameter voice coil is wound on a fiberglass former to minimize weight and mechanical losses for dynamic output and low-level detail. Constructed of woven fiberglass, the cone has excellent damping properties that keeps unwanted resonances under control for smooth and natural response. Extensive venting through the frame and motor cools the voice coil and gives the WF146WA05 excellent power handling while minimizing power compression. This driver produces a sound you would expect from high dollar drivers for a price that is easy to handle.
