Mission: Volunteers of America is a movement organized to reach and uplift all people and bring them to the knowledge and active service of God. Volunteers of America, illustrating the presence of God through all that we do, serves people and communities in need, and creates opportunities for people to experience the joy of serving others. Volunteers of America measures its success in positive change in the lives of individuals and communities we serve.

Target demographics: Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge provides basic needs and long-term solutions to people in South Louisiana, including families transitioning from homelessness, people with disabilities, the elderly, veterans, and abused and neglected children and teens.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 15,000

Geographic areas served: 19 Parishes in South Louisiana including the Greater Baton Rouge, Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana Regions

Programs: Provides housing to disabled persons under section 811 of the national housing act under agreement with the department of hud.
