I used the metallic base then color then some black to tone it down. You can make it very vibrant if you want to. 4 coats is almost there. I used a full can of color on this grille.

This paint is amazing. A bright vivid transparent color (Green in this case) I've used this on numerous projects from guitars to shoes to fabric to automotive stencil projects. This stuff is amazing over chrome, or as a tinting compound over just about anything. Five stars.

The paint did not come out as expected it was very light. I did paint in dark background. If you need to paint something white its ok.

It looks great while it’s still wet, regardless of the base color beneath the paint. I even did numerous coats, but it was significantly darker the next day to the point that it almost looks black unless there’s sunlight on it.

Great product if you’re aiming for a gold look but if you really want that candy orange look you’ll have to apply a ton of coats. I recommend buying two if aiming for orange but like I said, it’s fantastic for good!

Works fantastic on metallic surfaces; I would say this paint is more like a tint and is very thin, so apply in light thin coats until desired color/darkness is achieved. can use a metallic paint like gold or silver to make a surface have the required look it needs to really shine. I have used this for painting razor dirt bike frames and plastic, and used it for painting 3D printed helmets and props. My only complaints are that the paint will run very easily, its more like a tint so you need to apply in very thin layers. It also chips really easily, more so on metal surfaces than 3d prints. I have tried adding a clear coat to help prevent chipping but the clear coat makes no difference.

My bike has metallic blue paint, and finding a match is almost impossible. This paint is a great match, and it makes the bike much better. Three or four coasts are needed to hide imperfections in the old paint, but it's worth the effort.

This spray paint with chrome makes a candy coat if you do it right. My picture is good but in person is better.. Great paint I recommend this to the world

I bought this because I had great experiences with the Metalcast Red on some other projects. I was going to originally spray the part in metallic British Racing Green, but couldn't find it locally. I ended up spraying three coats of MetalCast Green over a Duplicolor Engine Enamel Cast Iron to make it darker than if sprayed over a lighter (Silver) base coat. My only complaint is that the pigment in the paint is susceptible to "running" if sprayed heavily on a vertical surface... The paint itself doesn't run, it's the pigment within, so just be careful if spraying heavily on a vertical surface
