Mission: The Unity Shoppe provides the basic necessities of life while encouraging self-sufficiency and independent living during periodic times of crisis for low-income families, children, the elderly, and those affected by fire, flood and disaster. We provide a "Central Distribution Facility" for the use of all non-profit agencies, social service organizations, churches, schools and hospitals. Over 300 different service groups are now referring their low-income clients to this facility during times of crisis. During the pandemic, Unity has focused on emergency food distribution for the newly unemployed and those struggling with the impacts of Covid-19. We initiated food delivery for seniors, making nearly 5,000 deliveries in 2020. Having learned more about how the shut-ins, disabled, immunocompromised and seniors with limited transportation options need additional help, Unity is attempting to make food deliver a new element of service. We have managed to still honor choice and preference.
Unity Shoppe, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1995, and donations are tax-deductible.
