Mission: The Twin Falls Senior Center is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that has been serving the elderly population in Twin Falls since its May 1978 incorporation. The Center’s broad-based commitment to the long-range health of the community is by providing nutritional meals to keep seniors, happy, healthy, and independent as long as possible while also offering social activities and nutritional education. The Center believes in serving the community one heart at a time.
Results: The Center has been in operation for 40 year. In the past six years the demand for services has continued to increase as the number of seniors in our community continue to grow. Approximately 35-38 percent of the population of Twin Falls is over the age of 60.This trend will continue to grow through 2050.The Center is working hard to make sure no senior is going without daily nutrition and services. The Center prepared approximately 70,000 meals in 2017 to congregate and home-bound seniors in our service area. Approximately 2000 different individuals used the services of the Center in 2017.
Target demographics: the elderly population remain happy and healthy and independent as long as possible.
Direct beneficiaries per year: approximately 2,000 different individuals who utilized the services at the Center and the Meals on Wheels program .
Geographic areas served: the City of Twin Falls and our local service area.
Programs: The Center provided approximately 70,000 meals for 2017 including 51,750 meals through the Meals on Wheels program. The Center also hosts numerous services including AARP tax aide services, AARP driver safety classes, SHIBA counseling, Volunteer Lawyer consultations, nutritional educational services, exercise classes, computer classes, quilting, art classes, card playing, monthly breakfasts, monthly food box delivery, along with other special activities and events during the year.
