I've used these for years with major swings in power fluctuations as indicated by the lights on the front. My older one which is still going 15 years later is still good and on a very expensive electronic. Lately I've had a major glut of buying these stupid UPS APC units. They seem like they last 6 months or even a year and fail. My latest one I tore apart and found the battery to be perfectly fine, but would randomly just power down no warning no backup and the annoying beeps etc just drive me nuts. SO WHAT is the point of a UPS if it does not ever stay running long enough to safely shut down the computer. SO WHAT is the point of a UPS if it randomly shuts down your computer without warning causing major disruptions and corrupted files I've always had flawless performance from these line conditioners and never a hiccup in clean power delivery. I never have to listen to the ridiculous beeping and random power downs for no reason. Nor do i have to keep buying UPS after UPS every so many years cause the battery dies which never have I experienced a power outage where the battery lasted even 1 second before by computer is shutdown. Will be slowly shifting our network over to these instead of UPS's If you want battery backup get a real battery hook up an invertor and some solar way more reliable than any ups I've come across.

To be fair, this is the first and only Line conditioner I've ever used, but I have several APC UPS and surge protectors that I thought were supposed to prevent my electronics from spikes and drops. I live in an old renovated farm house where the line quality is suspect, we get frequent brownouts when it rains too hard; I also have about 10 wireless routers where the wireless radios just go kaput in less than a couple of years or so. After some research, I thought I try out a line conditioner, and selected this one; in the week that I've had it... it's been kicking in catching drops (you can hear the click) whenever the HVAC kicks in. It's too soon to tell, but we'll find out in a couple of years if my linksy wrt 1900 is still functioning properly.

After a storm compromised 34;everything34; in my house - I've relied on Tripp Lite products - from the 20 AMP to every Line Conditioner I've purchased - Very serious protection. Worth it.

A client had one of those big fancy copy/fax workcenter monsters, and the included AC filter box died. The replacement filter box was nearly the price of this Line Conditioner, so we got this instead because we like Tripp Lite and this does more than that silly filter to protect the workcenter.

This Tripp Lite LC1200 line conditioner seems to be working as advertised. I use mine to protect my TV/entertainment center. During those occasional voltage sags, I would hear the clicking sounds when the internal relays activate to boost the voltage. These line conditioners are a big improvement over the common plug-in surge suppressors. Surge suppressors are ineffective to protect against brownouts and voltage sags, nor can surge suppressors deal with extended voltage surges. The line conditioner can do all that. However, the price you pay for this broad protection is the high standby power consumption. There is a heavy internal transformer in the line conditioner and it consumes roughly 20 watts just sitting there even when all the appliances are turned off. The massive transformer also gives an audible hum that some people may hear. The small hum gets drowned out as soon as I turn on the TV. Only when I sit right next to it in a totally silent room do I hear the hum.

MUST READ! I am a certified Electrician and I want to let everyone know that this Product is EXCELLANT. It does exactly what it describes. I also want to clear up the dumb review that I read below about how this Line conditioner had different outputs depending on the voltage input. He shows a stupid table that implies that if you put 116 volts AC in you get 116 volts AC out. WRONG! You ALWAYS get a regulated 120 Volts AC output which is what a Line conditioner does. I wish he was smart enough to know that his unit is not working and should get it replaced. Please know that I Live in a place that has voltage drops down to 115 Volts AC and when I use this line conditioner I get a perfect 120 Volts AC output ALL the time.
