The Brand was derived from a hippie cult from the 70's that started the first vegan health food restaurant in the country that combined community and connection and quickly turned into the most popular restaurant in the country at the time and was attended by many icons of the time such as John Lennon and Marlon Brando. Though the brand is derived from an antiquated era, the mission it stands by is actually visionary. Founder Ashley Ray was not originally a chef, but a biology major who was educated on the issues with the unsustainability of our current food system. Combining her mycophile nature with knowledge she learned while obtaining her degree, The Source Truck was born. When facing major roadblocks to the business inception, such as the original truck lighting on fire on the free way to an event, it was easier to not give up because the vision was more important than serving food. It's about reshaping the way we view the food we eat and the power it holds to shift the future. Repping The Source Truck is pledging your allegiance to the vision of a better way of feeding people.
