These are of GREAT QUALITY. I gave these four stars because they are a bit too thick and sturdy to be comfortable. The towels actually take up a lot of space on the shelf. I really appreciate the sturdiness, but I think for me they could use to be a little less threads per inch. Who knew. If you like really thick towels - you just found them.

These are better than any luxury spa/hotel. When buyers say they are too heavy... they don't understand 1000 GSM. They are like swaddling in a blanket. They absorb well and are very heavySUPERBLY plush. If you don't like folding heavy towels, buy the cheaper, lightweight GSM. These are great. I bought Turkish towels in Istanbul and was told to soak them in water for at least 6 hours when new. I did that with these, dried with 100 cotton balls - don't use softener - and they are perfect.

Yes, these are thick, but they are so thick it's hard to even dry yourself with them. They feel like thick blankets, and washing them in the machine is tough because they unbalance it so easily. Also, one of them is fraying after three months of washing once a week.

If you want to impress friends, just use these in the guest bathroom. They are extremely absorbent. In fact, to some extent, the weight is overkill. These hold up well in the washer/dryer and the color doesn't fade.
