At first I disliked the weight. Then once it was explained to me and it was obvious when I went back and forth between the two. Not a better saw on the market at any price IMPO. Ive cut everything from 230 old oak logs that were 200 years old when the were first placed in the cabin, concrete, trim, ashphalt, hardboard, bricks dropped it off of a roof 30 ft, cut the cord. Jad to tweak the plate after the drop. Cord easy to replace with factory. Cords are very reasonbly prices too and easily found atost hardware or tool store. Simply the best saw built if you can only have one skillsaw the worm drive would be my choice. It's heavy for a reason the weight holds it down to the board and it's easier to get accurate cuts, the magnesium models are a noticinle lighter, but not good for extreme cold . Im 58 been on the trades for 45 years I now know it if I run it a lot, but at this stage I'm not going to sacrifice my repitation, not where it counts or it's a one shot cut. If your a young healthy sawman the first week or so of cutting all day for a crew your gonna feel it, but try going back to what you used before and it you will see why it's heavy it has to be bease with the power it has you don't want it kicking back. As always use caution be alert and stay safe safety glasses are a pain yes. Spend a few bucks on some good ones and keep both eyes. They saved my one eye multiple times. And when you only have one it gets real important

Cuts well

Used it this weekend for cutting rough cut beans that were 2.5 inches thick. Worked great.Appears to be well built and rugged. My only observation was it should have come with an electric brake because the blade seems to guide for sometime after shutting it off and I had issues. Now it was my fault but I was 32 feet off the ground hanging out over the edge with a safety harness on sawing vertically and a brake would have been so nice.
