I have used this clear imitation vanilla in food, but I ended up using more of my old bottle for homemade vanilla air freshener. I just use this vanilla, lavender essential oil and water (play around with amounts to get the level of scent you prefer, you do need to shake before each use), but you can use other essential oils like cinnamon and make your house smell a lot like cookies. With clear vanilla, you get a beautiful (if you are a vanilla person anyway) vanilla scent with no staining. This vanilla is perfect for white vanilla icing too.

This is another item I have on scheduled deliveries. I make several white cakes/ cupcakes a week and need clear flavoring. It is a pantry staple!

It really has a quality taste without the brown color like the others. I use it in my frosting and fondant and works so good! Highly recommend!

The bottle seal is removed, the bottle is dirty from outside,has some powder,amp; spilled liquid! See pictures!!

I was hesitant to use imitation vanilla due to the difference in the flavor profile compared to vanilla extract. As expected the flavor mimicked but did not compare to extract. However, the beauty of this imitation vanilla is the clear nature. It was perfect for my frosting as it added the necessary vanilla flavor without the dark tinging from extract. In a darker frosting it would have been no big deal, but for my white frosting I will always use this McCormick product from now on. Great product with great baking results.

I have to be honest, I believe the Wiltons clear vanilla tastes better. But, Mccormick is nut and peanut free (Wiltons is not). I had a customer who wanted a white cake, and who has a nut and peanut allergy. This Mccormick clear vanilla did the trick.

Look at the reviews. There is something clearly wrong with this batch. Reviewers, along with myself got yellow tinted (looks like pee) not clear. The taste, it's close to watered down vodka house hold cleaner. There is no shade of vanilla here. They presumably sold us a batch contaminated with something. I even emailed the company concerning recent reviews. Asking then to make sure I got the normal batch. I got no reply. I got tainted product. I want my vanilla. Someone from Mccormick should contact me and give me the best vanilla I've ever had. In order to make up for the worst vanilla traumatizing moment they just gave me. My tounge us still tingling from the pinky nail sized drop I tried. Absolutely no small business could operate like this. Very not cool. I hope I didn't drink some weird chemicals.
