Melanie Hurley is the mother of two "very fancy" little girls who always loved to have their fingernails painted. They would do their nails and sing songs while the polish dried, but Melanie always worried about the fumes. Plus, she didn't want solvent-based polishes ending up in her children's mouths.
So Melanie began a quest to develop a kid-friendly polish without the chemicals. That's how Piggy Paint was born, and it was an immediate success. It's a simple, water-based formula with no formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone.
SOPHi is a natural nail polish that is nontoxic, odorless, and hypoallergenic. This line allows health-conscious adults to have a worry-free manicure with no smelly chemicals. When applied with SOPHi's Prime, Shine, Seal System, this water-based formula easily competes with standard nail polish durability.
*Since SOPHi does not contain harsh chemicals, it does require these extra steps for chip and scratch resistance. The PRIME + SHINE + SEAL System is NOT needed for use on toenails.
Step 1 Prime: Apply thin layer of SOPHi Primer + Sealer In-One to clean nails and let air dry. The primer creates a sticky surface for polish to adhere.
Step 2 Color: Apply polish color in thin layers, drying with blow dryer on warm heat/low blower setting between coats. Lighter polish may require more coats. Fully dry each layer for best results.
Step 3 Shine: Apply shine topcoat for added shine and chip resistance. Blow dry nails.
Step 4 Seal: Apply thin layer of SOPHi Primer + Sealer In-One Top of Topcoat to seal polish. Don't forget to apply to tips of nails as well since this is where polish typically chips first. Blow dry nails.
