First and foremost I didn't get a chance to use this bag.It was a very nice bag very spacious and gorgeous, but it's incredibly big! I wouldnt purchase if you are on the shorter side, or for a child because it looks comically big. I ended up gifting it away to someone whom would have a better use for it. But it seemed like a solid bag!

As far as the bag itself, its over the top, but the stitching just sucks! Who ever was running the sewing machine was new at it. Or was pushed WAY too hard,and it looks like they let the machine run away a bit. But you cant get the stuff to make a bag like this for $25, and being canvas you can restitch, and add your own pockets and things to really make this bag your own.

My husband carried this daily for almost three years before it was finally too worn out to continue using. By the time I finally threw it away the canvas had a number of holes, the color had faded significantly, and the velcro no longer closed. My husband is hard on things so it's probably a miracle it lasted as long as it did.

I gave it 3 stars for quality fabric and room. The downside, and something I personally care about, is the length of the strap. It's long enough if you're a shorter person. However, as a tallish person, 6', this hits about shoulder bag length, just below my ribcage. I like my messenger bags to hit mid hip. Quite annoyed, I was. But, such is life, this only cost 24 dollars, so I said whatever and cutthe strap and sewed it to the length it would be comfortable. Sending stuff back is a pain, and I'm resourceful. Not for a tall person who likes their bags at the hip.

This is a great bag - simple, durable, and well made. However, the velcro closure system is at odds with the rest of the bag, and seems like a compromise or afterthought. This bag would benefit from a more secure close system, such as quick-release plastic buckles. Unfortunately, there's no straps or anything by which to add these buckles myself - it would require considerable modification by a tailor.
