OK. Originally thought this would be a durable work jacket, seemed well built and gave 4 stars. After 1 week. Reduced to 2 stars. Zipper was difficult to zip brand new. After 3 days the zipper bottom became unsewn making zipper useless. (and I was being careful with it). Many threads unraveling as well. This is NOT a dependable nor durable work jacket. I though being made in Mexico was a good thing, probable better quality if made in China.

I received a couple of these as part of my company uniforms back in the early to mid 90s and they both held up well for close to 30 years. I bought a new one after losing my last one and its exactly the same, right down to the label. Here's to another 30 years!

Giving 5 stars because the jacket overall quality and purposeful construction is a great bang for your buck. No 'loose-thread' problems as reported by others. Some complain of its roomy sleeves; however, it's not a design flaw. This insulated jacket is targeted for manual labor as is the costlier Dickies' version. This is the jacket to buy if your arms require a generous and comfortable range of motion--function over form.

Okay this is a very nice quality jacket. And plenty warm. I got the grey and it looks great. Over-all good sizing too. I am 6-0 and a bulky 285 with lots of muscle and the 2XL fits very well. I can wear it over just a t-shirt or fit a hoody under it also when it's really cold. Sizing good EXCEPT THE SLEEVES. And I don't have skinny arms. 18" biceps and 14" forearms but the sleeves are just too big around-- especially from the elbows down. Took it to a tailor to taper the sleeves from the elbow down and shorten them an inch or so. [Turns out that'll cost me $35.] That said, it's worth it b/c it's a great looking jacket with serious warmth. Also, I don't have any of the hanging threads that other reviewers are talking about. Hey Red Kap-- tighten up the sleeves a bit, add a loop inside for hanging on a hook when not in use, and you will have produced the perfect jacket!!

It's a very serviceable shop coat. Coat is true to size. Zippers are quality. Stitching seems to be done well, but there are TONS of un trimmed threads hanging everywhere. Spend a few minutes with some scissors or a razor and all seems fine. If I wear it out and need another for work, would buy again.

I really wanted to get a mechanics jacket because I had one in high school, That one had a nice fit and was warm enough for spring/fall. I was a little put off by the size, it fits funny like big shoulders and skinny waist, and has a funny plastic whoosh sound when you move around in it; but the coat is nice and warm for chilly mornings in the house or running errands.

It's exactly as big as they advertised I just thought I knew my size good enough as to not to have to look at the size chart they are about 2 sizes bigger than you Walmart I should have got the 3xl instead and I only have myself to blame. Beyond that this product is warm. it's has 3 pockets no zipper on the pockets. and no pockets on the inside. I love the cigarette pocket on the sleeve. The only actual down side of this product is the stitching is flying off all the seems id definitely run a lighter over it if I was keeping it.

This jacket looks and feels great. It holds up to work and play. The only issue I had was the zipper stop broke off and the zipper pull went missing. I had not been especially rough with the jacket and I have never had that happen on anything else that I own, so I was pretty surprised. I don't know if it was a fluke or if they somehow have a cheaper version of a zipper on this thing, but it was a real letdown. I still like this jacket better than those offered by some much more expensive competitors, but the zipper thing is an issue. Maybe I just got unlucky, so I would still say this jacket is worth taking a chance on. As for me, I like the jacket enough that I may try to have someone put on a new and heavier zipper.

Bought this as a work jacket in the auto repair business. It seems well made with a strong zipper, is adjustable at waist and wrist but is a bit lighter than I'd like for outdoor cold weather use.

This is the third red cap jacket I have owned of this style. The quality has gone down hill immensely! It fits OK, however the sleeves are huge, not in length but in width. So if your popey the sailor man, this is the jacket for you. I am not popey, so I am not happy with my purchase.

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for when I made a purchase. This jacket is a good fit for me, and I enjoy wearing it. I it to be a good light coat. I would definitely buy another when this wears out.
