The flat faces are not flat enough for any precision work, like leveling guitar frets. The sides are not straight either, having a visible bow along their length. So, this file will remove material, as is its intended purpose. But if you're trying to get a really flat result, this file might not be your friend.

A 16 file is hard to come by. Most people don't want to use something that takes this much force.

18in file is good quality, removes a lot of material quickly I used it on a bar of 1095 steel and it bit really well , would buy again

This file is huge, very aggressive teeth aswell. Just what I hoped I ordered.

Can't wait to try out this double-cut file!Excellent price at $9.89 as some popular hardware stores are charging twice as much!It came in a nice plastic square tube for protection, NICE!
