How these taps have above 3 stars is beyond me. I work as a quality manager in a machine shop. Was in a pinch for some homemade parts that needed tapping so ordered this real quick to try out. The tap flexes so much when tapping the first hole that I was almost positive it was going to break just from how much it was twisting at the top near my tapping handle compared to the bottom as the cutting threads started to engage the hole. I stopped tapping at that point and decided to borrow a proper tap from work. I then continue to use this tap to start the threads and then used my tap from work to finish the threads. Needless to say on the third hole out of eight this tap broke only being two or three threads in...not too hard to get out but if I would have tried to cut more on the first hole it would have surely been a scrap part... Or maybe not since a standard drill bit is probably going to be harder than this tap... Even if the drill bit was from China it would probably still be tougher than this tap.

Both tap and bit were like new after one use thru mild steel. Tap being a little on large size, the thumb screw I bought separately being a little on the small side, made for a slightly loose fit... Shouldn't have run tap in so far

idk if they are the best quality taps, but they look well finished, and i was using them to chase threads in hdpe/derlin type material, and they worked well in that application.

Trash drill bit. Tap worked great but had to purchase bits to complete job. Bought package of 15 and used 1. So the bit that comes with this package is garbage.
