The 3/4" tap and the drill bit seem to be undersized. It didnt cut enough thread for the 3/4" plug to screw in. I checked the tap and drill bit with a 3/4" pipe coupling and both were sloppy. This didnt work at all for me.

The end of the drill flutes had a small burr, recommend dressing it with a stone (or sandpaper) before using the drill bit. The same for the tap, the cutting edges look slightly rounded. But for the price they are a reasonable quality, and Im only using this in aluminum. The tap doesn't have much lead in taper, if you are using this every day I would suggest a higher quality tool. It worked well for the project I was doing. I needed to drill the hole a little bigger to start the tap.

Only needed to drill and tap one hole in mild steel. Opened up hole in stages to 11/16", then used the 23/32" drill to prep for the tap. Then tapped the 1/2" NPT threads to gage. Went in steps, no more than 1/8" depth at a time, then pulled out, cleaned tap and hole of ANY shavings, lubed tap flutes all really good then back in. Don't forget to always cut for 1/4 turn then back out a full turn or so, a couple of times during each cutting portion. Threads are perfect. Drill and tap are both still perfect. Used Tap Magic for both drilling and tapping! ALWAYS!!!

The drill bit was sharp and useful. The tap was not very sharp (used on brass ) and the work was laborious amp; slow !! Should come in handy down the road

The drill bit worked well but I found it to wonder at first in aluminum even though I center punched prior to drilling? The tap worked very well in aluminum as well. I used some tap lube and took my time, screwing in 1/4 to 1/2 turn then backing out and about half way was getting to much resistance, so removed the tap and cleaned it and then finished threading the hole. For the price you really cant beat it!

I used this to tap a plastic master cylinder cap For what I needed, the drill and tap were more than adequate and very good value for the money I don't know how this would hold up to steel

This is decent quality - Harbor Freight kind of quality. Used it a few times on mid-grade metals and it worked fine. Drill bit is fair quality but did the job. Seriously doubt it would hold up to repeated use or high grade steel but got what I expected for the price.
