The Miami J and Miami Jr. Collars are designed to provide superior comfort and immobilization for pre- and post-cervical-spine surgery and other cervical injuries. The patented design minimizes pressure points in key areas such as, the chin, occiput, trapezius, and clavicle. The cervical support is X-ray and CT lucent and MR safe for continued support during routine checkups.
The Miami J Collars are lined with a semi-rigid polyethylene shell and Sorbatex padding that enhances comfort and improves patient compliance. The washable padding allows air to flow, keeping the skin dry, and inhibits microbial growth and skin deterioration for patients wearing the collar for extended periods of time. The Miami J Collar's sternal pad can be removed and occiput support can be adjusted with a button to increase comfort while eating, sleeping, or as a result of excessive swelling.
Miami J and Miami Jr. Collars use a simple, phenotype-based sizing system to easily size the correct support for patients. The Miami Jr. line is engineered to span the growth cycle of children 12 and younger and account for the anatomical differences between adults and children. They feature wide hook and loop strapping for a snug and secure fit.
