Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2019, we helped to save the lives of 320 cats and 149 dogs. 21 of the dogs that came into our care were Heartworm positive, which we provided treatment for. All of the animals come into our care from Hertford County Animal Control.

Geographic areas served: Hertford County, NC

Programs: * Adoption Program: We strive to find homes that are the right fit for the animals in our care. Once an adoption application has been submitted, an adoption counselor will be in contact with the applicant. To date, we have found forever homes for over 3,000 cats and dogs, and transferred over 1,500 to other rescue partners. * Volunteer Program: As a 501c3 nonprofit, we rely heavily on volunteers. Volunteers help to care for the animals, screen the applications of potential adopters, take animals to/from medical appointments and adoption events, and fundraise for the rescue. * Community Programs: In an effort to reduce overpopulation numbers, we offer low-cost spay and neuter to county residents. Appointments can be made by calling 252-642-7297.In addition, we offer a free rabies clinic once a year. Please follow our Facebook page for information regarding when these clinics are scheduled.
