My son wanted these for lacrosse practice on turf. He said they are comfortable and work well on the turf.

This is the 2nd pair of New Balance shoes I've tried that do not have the typical mesh outer but more of a hard shell especially around the front section of the sneaker. It does not expand per se like the mesh and the toe box region is tight if you have very wide feet or wide front section of your foot. I'm bummed because I do like the sole for turf and the color black being a sports official it's hard to find a good shoe that is light weight fits a full wider foot. The length felt true to size it was just the width up front.
