Mission: The Nevada Blind Children's Foundation ("nbcf") is dedicated to providing information and services that enable families, health care professionals, and the community to understand and meet the unique needs of infants and children who are blind or visually impaired.

Target demographics: children age 0-22 with low vision and blindness, helping them reach their full potential

Geographic areas served: Southern Nevada

Programs: After school tutoring and blind specific technology assistance. The sessions are designed to assist students with blind specific skills, homework assistance, literacy and socialization. Blind specific technology is introduced, supported and explored. Additional after-school programs for children grades K-12, are held Monday thru Friday at NBCF and they include Music, Life Skills, Robotics/STEAM, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Dance and Adaptive Recreation. NBCF also offers a Dots and Tots class for children age six months to five years, and their siblings. We engage toddlers in the exploration and discovery of early literacy, peer and social interaction, daily living skills, and teach independence from family/caregivers in preparation for Preschool.

NBCF also offers several special events during the course of the year including: discovery day camp, beep baseball, beepin' egg hunt, and a holiday party.

Resource and braille library -NBCF houses a braille resource library where families may borrow braille books, story boxes, electronic braille, audible books and audio described dvd's as well as adapted games, puzzles and braille producing equipment. In addition, this library houses professional educator's materials and assessment kits.
