Mission: Founded in 2009, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (“NICA”) develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student-athletes across the United States. NICA provides leadership, services and governance for regional leagues to produce quality mountain bike events, and build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities through interscholastic cycling. NICA envisions a world where every youth is empowered to be part of a thriving and engaged cycling community.

Results: NICA experiences an average growth of 30% year-over-year. Currently, there are over 26,000 student-athletes in 31 leagues across the United States.

Target demographics: We build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities through cycling.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 26,000 student-athletes across 30 state and regional leagues and we continue to grow!

Geographic areas served: In communities across the United States.

Programs: Inclusive and equal youth development opportunities centered around the sport of mountain biking to support NICA's core values of strong mind, strong body, and strong character; including programs and initiatives such as Girls Riding Together (GRiT), Teen Trail Corps, and Adventure.
