Mission: Mokuroku Martial Arts Society, formerly Bestia Martial Arts, is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. We have been active in the New Braunfels community for the past nine years. Our mission is to use martial arts to help with the development of character and self-esteem. We encourage our students to develop intellectual, physical, and spiritual qualities so that they may use those gifts and talents to influence their community in a positive and productive manner. In addition to teaching self-defense, we strive to enrich the lives of the children and families we serve by providing a structured and stable environment. We believe that it is important and in the best interest of children (and adults) to be engaged, not only physically but also mentally, regardless of financial situation. In order to achieve this goal, we offer rates on a sliding scale as well as scholarships to ensure that anyone who is interested has access to our services. We currently partner with Kids Club, the New Braunfels Food Bank, Communities in Schools and Connections to provide services for at-risk youth. Our goal is to build strong families and individuals in order to have a strong community. We hope to also motivate our students to, in turn, support that community through volunteerism and civic-mindedness.
Target demographics: Provide affordable martial arts for families and individuals.
Geographic areas served: Comal and surrounding counties.
Programs: Our Ohana program: In a community where the average cost of martial arts training is $135/mo. , our program is $60/mo. We offer a sliding scale for clients that need it. No child will be turned away because of inability to pay. We also work with the New Braunfels Food Bank, Communities in Schools and Connections and gladly work with families that they refer to us.
