Mission: The mississippi nurses' foundation raises, accepts and disperses charitable donations to promote professional nursing and better health in mississippi.

Programs: Mississippi nurses foundation program accomplishments: - awarded $110,000 in car tag stipends to nursing students and nurses seeking degrees across the educational continuum (ad, bsn, msn, phd, dnp). - provided scholarships to twenty-four schools of nursing throughout the state through the emma burdonne young scholarship fund; all funds have been expensed. - awarded mnf research award, the martha douglas school nurse award, nurse oneita dongieux award, and georgia bernard hall award. - developed a new partnership with mississippi gulf coast community foundation to include a new scholarship for nurse practitioners. - created a new scholarship to support students with book fees; brantley-fletcher book scholarship. - continued to raise money for the nurse in need program to support nurses in need. - created a new stream of funding through kroger reward points and chili's restaurant. - coordinated a profitable silent auction fundraiser during the mna annual convention. - celebrated a successful and profitable nightingale awards gala with mna. - continued mnf's nurse leadership institute with funds from south mississippi home health. - continued to partner with the department of health-office of tobacco control by providing stipends to nurses to attend mna annual convention. - continued to partner with msdh-office of rural health to promote nursing in rural communities. - continued partnership with the mississippi department of health office of emergency preparedness to host a hand washing workshop and provide hand washing supplies and educational material to health science teachers and school nurses throughout the state.
