I have had this a few years now. I believed it came seasoned but I seasoned it myself as well. I used this particular skillet to cook eggs and it works great.

The pan itself is excellent. However, the handle is too short and it's really hard to carry the pan from just the handle.

Smaller than they claim, or I though; more like 8.5 where the cooking surface meets the walls.What's more to say. Even though it's pre-seasoned, I seasoned it anyway. Works great if you like cast iron. Can't go wrong with Lodge.

I love my Lodge pans and recently sent this one to my son in his first apartment. The cast iron heats up quickly and retains an all over even temperature to allow for perfect searing and sauteeing. Once seasoned, it is super easy to keep clean with just hot water.Tip: I always use a scrub daddy for daily cleaning but also have a chain mail cleaner for any stubborn, stuck on food. Don't let your cast iron remain wet or it might rust. Instead of hand or air drying, put it back on the stove over high heat to dry it out--you can watch all the water evaporate. And if it needs a little seasoning, a small swipe of oil will do the trick

This thing is fantastic. The day it arrived, I made a Chicago - style deep dish pizza in it. The result was incredible! Cleaning up was a breeze. The purchase of this was a wise and AFFORDABLE!I asked my cat what he thought, and he confidently said, Meow. His endorsement might have been based on the fact he tried to nest in it prior to me using it.

This little 8 Lodge cast iron is perfect for cooking smaller items. I mainly cook in cast iron so I can get non-stick performance without the chemicals.

This is joker is close to 6lbs, but worth it. It comes pre-seasoned, but when I got it I seasoned it (heated the oven to 400 and oiled the skillet with canola oil, wiped it out, turned it upside down and put in there for an hour). You can do it on the stove, but you better open the door or turn on the oven fan full blast. I oil it after I use it every time and it cooks like a dream. A cast iron skillet is straight old school, but you can't beat the taste and flavor of it. Just my humble opinion.

Beautiful pan, fits 4 slices of bacon and 2 duck eggs easily, not crowded. Also great for searing steaks.

Oil the skillet after each use. Don't let it soak in water. I wash mines while it's hot, dry it and add cooking to (massage about a tablespoon) and store it. Works for me!!!

So glad I finally came around to this pan after years of messing around with other, worse, more expensive, more chemicaly pans!! This thing will sear your proteins, cook cornbread without it sticking, even cook eggs. If someone could invent a cast iron that you could cook tomatoes in I would throw away all my others.

First time buying a cast iron skillet. Like the size, not too small or too big. I like that I can start cooking on the stove top then finish it in the oven. So far cleaning has been fairly easy. Makes wonderful dutch babies! Would recommend.
