This skillet was bigger than exspected. Great for braising meat. When this pan gets heated up it stays hot for a while.

Haven't tried it yet, but the only issue is that it is not the same pan pictured, I was ordering what I thought had a smooth bottom with no embossment, which I felt was made for safer use on a glass top stove, but received the embossed logo version. Hopefully with care, it will not scratch the glass

Mine arrived with some rust already present on it straight out of the box. Thankfully it wasn't bad enough to require completely re-surfacing the pan, and I think after cleaning it off and then seasoning it myself, it should be fine.Besides that issue, everything else is basically what I had hoped for and I'm still very happy overall. I just can't give it 5 stars because Lodge does state that their cookware comes ready to use and mine did not arrive that way for whatever reason.

The pan itself is excellent. However, the handle is too short and it's really hard to carry the pan from just the handle.

First time buying a cast iron skillet. Like the size, not too small or too big. I like that I can start cooking on the stove top then finish it in the oven. So far cleaning has been fairly easy. Makes wonderful dutch babies! Would recommend.

Though pre-seasoned it still stuck. After multiple seasonings in the oven and lowering the cooking level of heat to low (3mark) the results were consistently non-sticking. Once properly seasoned it is worth the wait to get a perfect over easy egg.

I normally use non stick cookware but I wanted to try a cast iron pan for the versatility. I received the pan recently and had one occasion to use it so far. I heated the pan on my outdoor electric grill and then seared and cooked my meat, using a little oil. It was perfect and clean up was fairly easyfor stuck on food put a little water in the pan and heat on the stove. I used a heat resistant spatula to scrape the bottom, rinsed, dried completely and re-oiled the pan for storage. You can check the manufacturer for these instructions. The manufacturer also said a little soap can be used but my faithful cast iron friends say never use soap but that’s up to you (check with the manufacturer). So far I’m pleased with the pan!

It came in it’s what u think a old style grandma black pot. But it has a weird smell. DONT USE SOap that’s how u mess it up salt or coffee grinds work great. Make sure don’t forget to oil after each use

The skillet is a good size and cooks food up evenly. It is a little heavy for anyone who does not have much strength in their hands or wrists for lifting heavy objects. Other than that, overall a great purchase!
