Mission: The mission of Literacy Pittsburgh is better lives through learning.

Results: After 50 hours of instruction, 71% of students show improvement on standardized tests. We welcome people from more than 90 different countries and help them to thrive in their new home. Last year, 74% of students reported increased confidence with their English, reading, writing or math skills, positioning them for future success. Each year, more than 650 volunteers give 77,000 hours to help our students succeed.

Programs: workforce skills, adult reading, writing and math skills, English as a second language, immigrant and refugee support, family literacy, high school equivalency exam prep, and Oasis intergenerational tutoring.
