I bought this to replace the Stanley I bought on ebay but it was "lost" somehow. (I never saw it.) This cost about a 1/3 of the Stanley. I'm learning hand tool woodworking amp; this or something similar is needed for layout, etc. I have a "Shinwa Sokutei 62588 Freedom Scoya" , it was about $1 more than my "Johnson Level amp; Tool B75 T-Bevel". It works fine, but I'm still learning how to use it. I gave it 4 stars, if i needed another I would it ( or something similar).

This is exactly what I wanted, was happy to see it made in the USA! Should last me a long while! Very reasonable price!

I lost my old T-bevel I had for 40 years. When I went to buy a new one, they were either HUGE (10) or digital. I wanted a normal sized one, which is traditionally 8. You can't carry around a 10 in your tool belt and you certainly can't expect a digital one to hold up in the field. This one is perfect. It's sturdy and folds into a compact 8.5 total length when the blade is stored. Made in US is a bonus. It's inexpensive enough to lose but high quality. The wing nut holds tight. I've seen complaints that it's not stainless steel, even though it's marked stainless. Yes, a magnet will stick, but I researched and there are some stainless steels that a magnet will stick to, so ignore the magnet test.

I gave it a 5 star review only because folks have now considered a 5 star a product that actually does what it's supposed to do.This product works well. The blade doesn't move when tightened. It works as it should. Nothing more or less. It should be a 3 star review for doing what it should.

First off, this was not an expensive tool. Never the less, I expected that if it was made in the US it would function correctly. Unfortunately, it does not. The SS metal slide is stamped so hard it deformed the blade. The thing that bothered me the most is the blade slot is much wider than the center diameter carriage bolt holding it together. If you want a throw away tool or one you don't care about losing on a jobsite this is it. If you want a quality tool, it will cost more money than this one does.

This is a very simple tool. No, it doesn't stand out too much from others like it, but it is made in the USA and affordable.
