Good for inexpensive cross slide vise. Less play in this compared to some I looked into

hago muebles, a pedido, variado.

Like the reviews say, take it apart and clean it. I used it several times on my drill press to key small shafts and finally had to tighten 2 of the screws to keep it from slopping, but for the price you would expect to have to do a little something. Overall, its a great product. There is minor play in the main turn handle, but unless your ready to spend some bucks, it is definitely something that can be dealt with.

This cross slide Vise has adjustments to keep it tight and true for milling on a drillpress. Great precision

so much easier than moving the part to line to up to drill, it's a bit shakey on large 3.5 pipe but it works

Great vise, repeatable precision. It can be used to mill some basic things depending on your drill press. Operates pretty smoothly after using it a bit.

As others have stated I bought this for the Wilton name but I think all these low end vises are about the same so I'd shop price and buy low. Vise was usable right out of the box. No oil coating to clean off and no adjustments to be made. A definite plug and play. I use this as a diy on a Reliant bench top drill press and have found it very useful for fine tuning hole alignment. Keep in mind its fairly tall so on a bench top press you lose quite a bit of working distance. Its also quite heavy so table height adjustment w/vise in place is a bit energetic. Overall I would recommend but definitely shop price as I paid a good deal less in mar. 2022 than the current price today 5/2022.

what it WILL do is ruin your drill press's spindle bearings very quickly (because they were never designed for side loads), so if that's what you want to do, you should buy one and get to it.The only use for this poorly made junk is for convenient re-positioning of the work.

Use this on my full size free standing drill press. Bolts up to the table well (you need to provide your own bolts). Great when you have your work tightened in the vise and need to move it slightly to line things up!

Yeah, well those days are gone. This is not a bad vice for the money, but the finish quality is lacking. I had to spend four hours degreasing and filing down sharp edges. Many of the machined surfaces were not flat. I had to hand file them and use 320 grit sandpaper to get everything level and smooth sliding. Pay attention to the slide adjustment shims. They will be far more effective and accurate if they are FLAT! Even the Wilton name tag was put on carelessly. One of the rivets was missing, so I took it off. Hey, if they are not proud of their name anymore, why should I be? If you are not doing close tolerance work, this vise will be ok. Just keep in mind that the finish work is up to you and will require significant time to complete.
