I decided to unwrap and use this board for the first time about three weeks after the purchase. Its size and look received a few compliments; however, there were few cuts in the covering layer that my guests fortunately did not notice. I was wondering why would a solid wood board need a covering layer, unless it is not a solid wood. My family is cheese lover; we often serve charcuterie boards to our guests. However, after noticing these cuts I am wondering (a) about the material of the board, (b) if my board has been already used. Conclusion: not sure if it is made of solid wood at all amp; lack of quality - 2 stars awarded. I'd be happy if the product description was accurate.

Right now this board is helping to fill an empty corner in my kitchen but I can see using it regularly on my dining table. It's beautifully made!!
