Mission: The organization's mission is to protect, preserve and understand wild horses and burros as well as their habitat. (see schedule o number 5 for more detail)

Programs: The organization's goal is to prevent the elimination of unique herds and to find a solution that would help to raise the public's awareness of the need to protect wild horses and burros on public lands. At present, the organization has created a model management program for wild horses in our country and currently manages a very unique wild horse herd known at the Gila Spanish Herd. The Gila herd is an endangered herd and exists in conservation with the ISPMB. Our current efforts are focused on saving the Heber wild horses of northern Arizona managed by the Forest Service. ISPMB filed suit against the FS and stopped them from removing the horses in 2006.We ask that Secretary Vilsack make the herd a study herd. You can read more on our website.
