Mission: Challenge alaska improves the lives of people with disabilities, their families and the whole community through adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation and education.
Programs: Challenge alaska's therapeutic recreation programs create an inclusive community through adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation and education. Challenge alaska serves people with physical and cognitive disabilities as well as providing support, training and education to businesses, government, nonprofit organizations, hospitals and schools throughout alaska. Programs and activities include but are not limited to sled hockey, special hockey, warrior hockey, cycling, handcycling, adaptive swimming, nordic skiing, biathlon, wheelchair basketball, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, boating, kayaking, water skiing, dog sledding and jet skiing. Challenge alaska is a paralympic sport club and a chapter of dsusa.
challenge alaska's adaptive ski and snowboard school operates from november through april each year from our facility, the keil center in girdwood, alaska. Programs and activities include ski and snowboard instruction, full service ski and snowboard rental shop, and a competitive ski team.
