This Roman Gladiator Arena Helmet features a leather chin strap for secure fitting and steel spikes. It is made out of 18 gauge steel and highly polished for shine. It is fully wearable and is a one size fit all, approximately fitting up to a 7 7/8 hat size. Comes unlined and an arming cap may be purchased separately. Each helmet is hand-made and may have slight differences in finish and sizing also giving you a one of a kind, unique collector's piece.
Gladiators were well known in the time of the Roman Empire. They were used primarily to entertain and protect the people of Rome. Their weaponry and style made them stand out when they fought. Not only would these helmets look good on display, but they are also great worn in reenactments of those great battles in the arena. We have a selection of helmets made of 18 gauge steel to a mirrored shine that would give you the feeling of what it was like to look and feel like a Gladiator.

the spikes often come unscrewed and they dont screw flat, so you have gaps even when fully screwed in. From a distance you cant really tell but the closer you get the more you see. Great on a high shelf

Face portion totally flattens my nose. Completely uncomfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time. Plus it didn't come with a soft cap so I had to wear my Bennie so it didn't hurt my top of the head!

The metal helm came in a little oily but it was shiny. I feel the faceplate is a tad bit too big when comparing to movie quality, but the only part to complain about is the piece of metal under the nose. Your mouth tends to touch it, though I put tape and a little foam pad to help with comfort. The top fin is a little lopsided though that may have just been mine. Also the top corners on the inside of the nose are right angles so the pad helps keep it from hitting your skin. The fitting this allows is the inner lining at the top. It's like a shoelace going through a bunch of flaps, this allows it to get bigger, I have it fully tightened. And the strap actually works too. Doesn't come with a stand though.I give it a 4.5 , if it was 100 symmetrical and a tad bit smaller helm all together, it'd be a 5/5.
