Hayward AQL2-POD2 Aqua Pod Handheld Rf Floating Control 2, Price/each

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. What more can I ask for.

I was using a Hayward Goldline Controls AQL2-POD Aquapod remote that was old... The buttons didn't always work and the battery no longer held a charge, I could only use it when attached to the base station. Preventing me from using it while around the pool or in the spa because the plug was on the patio. I had attempted to upgrade to a controller that I could use on my phone via an app, but to do that I'd have to replace the whole control box for the pool which was upwards of $4,000. A suitable replacement was just replacing the remote. After some research I found that this remote allowed me to use the previous setup ie the antenna already installed. I was a little hesitant to buy it because of the price but it was a fair price. It's just that... that's a lot to pay for something that might not have worked. Turns out I received it in less than 48 hours via FedEx. Took it out of the box and had to charge it about for 30 minutes because the unit arrived with no charge. No big deal, minor inconvenience. After 30 minutes I took it to the pool controller unit. Pushed a few buttons on the pool controller to teach the new remote that took all of about 15 seconds within minutes I was controlling everything in my pool. At first I was a little worried because the labels did not come across on the remote. They were just labeled as aux 1, 2, 3 and valve 1, 2, 3... etc. and not waterfall, lights, full, cleaner etc... About a minute later all of it updated on it's own so it was easily labeled and I'm able to fill, turn on the heater, control the cleaner etc. Much easier than with my previous remote. Now I can walk around with the remote and take the remote next to me to the spa and control the heater while I'm in the spa. This is a game changer. It is not on my phone but I don't have my phone next to the pool all the time anyway so this is even better and it was much cheaper than a $4,000 upgrade. It does have a durable rubber boot around it for protection but it still a screen so some caution will be needed.
