This is a great little slide box, a hidden gem and a great weird little gift for the scientist in your life. The printed slot numbers in the bottom match up with the slots, the molding is clean and smooth, and the hinges operate smoothly. The catch is a little tight, but I'm ok with that because it seems less likely to pop open accidentally. The molded ridges for easy stacking are great too, and work with the 25 slide version of this.

I think I read this would be hard to open, and I can see why, but it's not that bad.It could certainly be designed better, but all you have to do is push in a little on the base, then push the lid open. It's a typical plastic catch latch, where the lid basically has an overbite on the base, its just not clearly marked. For the few dollars, it will be a good place to put slides which are otherwise practically invisible. With the next step up in price $5 or $6, it depends on how tight your budget is. This will do for me.

So they say for in the description to make you think they misspelled four. In the description not only say assorted colors but proceed to tell you the colors yet tell you too many colors for the count you are already deceived that you will get. In the initial description of the item it says grey so its the only clue your getting only one. I got mine for $4.20 and two days later it's$7.99.. Absolutely don't buy this! I have to admit... They did a great job with there trickery.. I am entertained by there cleverness.

    This is a great little slide box, a hidden gem and a great weird little gift for the scientist in your life.
