I had to replace an older model since one arm went bad, and they no longer sell replacements for it. New opener is pretty good. A little easier to do the wiring with updated connections. Only issue is that the remote receiver is a lot more finicky then the old model, and the range seems much shorter.

Fairly simple instructions to follow for installation. If you have a problem with the opener, try a new battery sometimes it seems like when you get one. It’s been around a while. I have installed five gate openers two of them on my own properties.

I own another gate from gto but if you buy this one you may need another opener with dip switches to pair it to operate keypad wireless opener I don’t know why they wouldn’t provide it when you purchase the opener they only cost $10 but I think it said they would send you it not convenient but I had other dip switch oper from other to program it.The cost is a bit for what you get it works the arm could be another inch more of throw to open further so mock up your set up to be sure it opens n closes totally I rate it 4 just for that reason n price

Had to replace the mighty mule 250 with this model 271 after 20 years of hard use. I didn’t have to start from scratch as one would with an initial install. I only had to move the bracket on the gate. This model is not as big or cumbersome as the old model. They moved the circuit board off of the opener arm and placed it in a separate, outboard module. Makes accessing it SO MUCH EASIER. Where as before you had to remove the arm from the brackets flip it over unscrew the back take the cover off to access the circuit board and fuses. However, there were crucial parts missing that would’ve made a scratch installation impossible. Because I had everything I needed from a previous installation I was able to cobble together what I needed to make the install happen. The box was perfectly sealed with no evidence of having been tampered with or previously opened. Anyway, overall, I’m very happy. If I didn’t have the additional parts, I would not have been a very happy camper. Gate works great remotes are all programmed again and fully functional be happier. Also cheaper here than buying directly me.

Motor worked for a week now just beeps

the older 260 model much better, quality and range, thinking i was up grading to a better model i was wrong, antenna is much smaller on 271 you just about have to be 10 feet in front of gate to open , the older 260 would open from about 100 feet away, rod in cap keeps un screwing, older 260 never come loose, would be nice to see mighty mule upgrade, but all they did is DOWNGRADE the single gate opener , took pretty good product and made worse.
