Echinacea, commonly referred to as "coneflower, " is a genus of nine different herbaceous plants native to North America. The two primary species used in herbal preparations are E. Angustifolia and E. Purpurea, which are often used interchangeably. It's one of the most widely used plants in herbalism, and Native Americans relied extensively upon it. Once widely spread, over-harvesting has greatly reduced wild populations and it's most commonly found now in cultivation.
Echinacea Purpurea Herb is a versatile ingredient that can be used to make hot tea or other hot beverages. It is easy to prepare and abundantly available. It blends perfectly with lemongrass, especially in teas and soups. Frontier Co-op Echinacea Purpurea Herb is mildly minty. This herb is most effective when added to teas. It delivers a tongue-tingling sensation.
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1 tsp. of herb. Cover and steep 3-5 minutes, strain and serve immediately.

The organic Echinacea Purpurea herb is exactly as expected and arrived on time. The cut herb includes the stems, leaves and flower petals, which are all medicinally active portions of the plant. Echinacea root may have stronger medicinal value, but is sold separately and at a premium price.Echinacea is used to boost the immune system and is a common ingredient in medicinal teas available in the supermarket. This package contains 552 servings, with a serving size of 1 tsp (820mg). The entire package is 453g. To see the value, compare this to the contents of grocery store brands (pictured) which offer a total of 24g and 32g per box respectively. The value is significant if you plan to drink this tea daily and it is worth investing in multiple herbs to get a tasty and effective blend of your own.This 1 pound bag fits perfectly into 2 half gallon Mason jars for long term storage and use. I received my package on March 12, 2020 and the Best By date is January 2023.I combined mine with calendula flowers and licorice root for a sweet tasting tea that supports the respiratory system. I also plan to provide it to my family as a tea with elderberries and honey for a daily immune system boost during COVID-19.Every little bit counts. Take care

I bought this as immune building teas and for Elderberry syrup. It has agreat flavor and aroma. I have not been sick this year and I have been around sick people taking care of them.
