I ordered this knowing it was mini, which I thought would make a nice accompaniment to a selection of macarons and chocolates for a small family celebration with a French theme.CONS: I wish the ridges on the shell pattern were more visible/defined on the finished cakes. Its possible a different recipe would show the ridges better. Im also going to try browning them a bit more to see if that helps. I do feel like the photos used in the listing could be misleading about the depth of the ridges.PROS: I buttered half the pan and butteredfloured the other half in both cases, the cakes came out of the pan beautifully while still hot. The pan is very easy to store (or even display) and fits comfortably on a half sheet pan to slide inside my standard electric oven. Bite size is cute and a nice option for a lot of reasons a half batch of batter that is listed to make 16 full size madeleines yielded roughly 40 of the minis, making it easy for people to have a bite or two with other treats. If I wanted a really classic madeleine with a really obvious scallop pattern, this wouldnt be the right pan. I may add a full size at some point for those occasions. But everyone here is very happy with the results because bite-size buttery cakes are dreamy. So I cant really complain.
