Mission: Pets of the Homeless believes in the healing power of companion pets and of the human/animal bond which is very important in the lives of many homeless. They find solace, protection and companionship through their pets. They care for their pets on limited resources so they themselves have less. Our task, nationwide, is to feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to their pets and thus relive the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who cannot provide for their pets.

Results: Since 2008, our collection sites have collected 765 tons of pet food and supplies which were distributed to the homeless and poor with pets through food banks, soup kitchens, and churches. We have treated over 22,500 pets through our Emergency Care Program and Wellness Clinics

Target demographics: Homeless with companion pets.

Direct beneficiaries per year: over 680 pets with veterinary care, donation sites took in 3 tons of pet food pet food and supplies of pet food to food banks across the country
