Mission: To rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need by mobilizing and training community members and identifying unique foster settings, collaborating with communities, other non-profits, and state agencies with the ultimate goal of finding the dog a responsible and loving home.
Results: We have rehomed over 2000 shelter dogs and trained more than 1200 community volunteers – many who have started doing adoption events in their local areas.
Direct beneficiaries per year: rehome more than 2000 sheleter dogs since 2010.
Programs: Adoption events: to create a shelter dog adoption event which reaches out to community members for support and help managing the event while also finding local businesses and merchants to donate and underwrite costs of the event. To date, we have trained more than 800 community volunteers, many of whom are now running their own community adoption events. Additionally, over 1500 dogs have been rehomed with pre-event and post event follow up care to support both the adopter and the placed dog. This program provides foster care for municipalities who have dogs in need. The adoption event received donated volunteer and professional services valued at 78,240 and inkind donations valued at 21,490.
education & training programs: to recruit, mobilize and educate community members on how to effectively identify needs of homeless shelter dogs and apply collaborative solutions that include merchants and businesses, other non-profits, and state agencies to find the best outcome for homeless shelter dogs by following our community event templated training.
