Causes: Education
Mission: The organization will offer after school tutoring, sat preparation courses, and numberous other education resources for the youth of dunn and the surrounding area. Along with providing a safe haven and educational tools, the organization will offer recreational activities to facilitate long-term betterment of the youth and the community.
Results: Since 1995 worked with over 4,000 youth. Since 2003 we have sent over 50 youth to Boys Town in Nebraska which have graduated school and went to college and work in the community. We have sent over 2,000 youth on educational field trips for the 1st time.
Target demographics: The youth in the community while preventing crime and conducting intervention with youth and their families.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 400 youth
Geographic areas served: The basic mission of PAL is to offer youth of Dunn and the surrounding area a viable alternative to the temptations of street life, which can lead to a life of crime, alcoholism, drugs, vandalism, delinquency and gangs. PAL keeps young men and women active, interested and busy through its supervised/ multifaceted programs geared to develop leadership traits and build good citizens for tomorrow. PAL is dedicated to instilling in youth a value system that recognizes the need to respect and protect human rights and to uphold and obey the laws of our city, state and nation.
