This switch has a great fit and finish and the mechanical detend also feels great. I have used CRL in several guitars and it works well and cost is fairly low for the quality you get. I will buy it next time I start a pickguard build.

High quality...solder with care!! The contacts are like the old original contacts and they bend very easily. The "feel" of the switch is smooth!

It's good. My only wish would be for a tighter spring for a more positive feel and switch tip.

Identical to the original toggle switches on vintage instruments of the 1950's. These are the the best quality and I've been using them for a least 25 years. They are my favorite toggles several of my guitars have these toggles installed. Well worth the money.

The original Fender switch wore out over time and became very wobbly. This one is very high quality and there is no wobble in the switch. I am very happy with it.

This was used on my 96 American Strat Plus Deluxe as the Oem switch. Because I use the neck pickup so often after 25 ish years the contacts stopped working correctly. The only better switch on the market IMO is the Schaler. Some people don't like the schaler due to its silky smooth action and prefer the more solid snap in position of the CRL switches, I get that but the schaler will outlast them all. And don't complain about using a German made switch on an American Fender since my Strat Plus Deluxe came factory installed with Schaler locking tuners and a Fender/Rose tremelo which I believe was also manufared by Schaler. Anyway the CLR is a great solid switch and I have them in several other Strats. Recommended.

Would definitely buy again if needed. Great replacement. It's more expensive than the other switches, but worth it.

All of these type switches can be temperamental. The CRL switches seem to be the best value and I believe have a slightly shallower size than the other high quality brand, so they're less likely to require a deeper route.

It functions just fine, but came with no knob for the selector blade. It should have one, especially for 20$. (I'm currently using as small piece of surgical tape wrapped around the blade.) Other functionality just fine.

This switch is as durable as they come and is a joy to use on the guitar once installed. However, the particular switch I received didn't come with the caps/covers as I've seen in some of the other listings for this switch. I didn't realize this switch didn't come with the covers, otherwise I would have opted for another listing, but I don't hold this against the switch itself nor the reseller. The quality of the switch is great, the price is a little high, but fair, and the listing was accurate. Great switch and if you already have covers that fit, it's not an issue. None the covers from my Yamaha, Peaveys, or a few other Strat copies I have fit this switches post, the post on this switch is a little wider and I had to trim it down or would have had to buy a cover for it. CRL will be my go to when I need another 5 way.

I read the negative reviews and took them as seriously as possible, but after researching the WEB and looking at the switch from my MIM Fender Stratocaster, I decided that this CRL 5-way Blade Switch w/Mounting Screws was the way I wanted to try first. The old bad switch from my MIM Strat did NOT match ANY of the switches I researched, including the ones from Fender direct, (including the ones from Squire Strats). The old switch did have a spring in it, similar to this CRL, and I had read good things about this brand of switch. In a review, someone mentioned heating the contacts on the CRL and them falling apart, but unless you are using an arc welder the CRL is made well, and you shouldn't use a Weller 200 watt soldering iron to install parts in a guitar body anyway. I followed the Fender schematic EXACTLY, and even traced all of the wiring in the Strat to make sure I wired it properly, (with a 40 watt soldering iron), and the switch works perfect. After disassembling the old Fender switch, I saw that it had silver contacts which had oxidized and the contact points were pulling away from each other. The original was not impressive! The CRL is! I have been an experienced tech for over 35 years, and I found the transition easy, but if the OLD switch does not match the replacement, you need to be able to read schematics, (available from Fender's web site), to make sure you wire the replacement correctly. I am so glad I did not select the Fender OEM 5 way switch or the Oak Grigsby 5-way Blade Switch, because after my careful evaluation, I don't think they would be as good a switch as this CRL, (and Fender has used CRL switches in their strats in the past). Good stuff in my opinion!

This is the OEM part Fender uses so it is what I needed. I think the price is a few dollars more than need be, but I think it is a better switch than the newer brown Oak Grigsby.

As a hardcore Strat guy of many decades I've gotten familiar with their parts. Every American Stratocaster I've checked under the hood, contained a CRL, spring loaded 5 way switch. It's not the name or who owns who, and I don't know what's in Mexican Strats stock, but squiers contain junk electrics and Any is a step up. The Oak grits by, Mexican made, blade switch is not comparable to the switch that comes in American Strats. And this Mexican or Asian Strat is just as good as an American one is patently absurd. Great value at their price points-not the real thing. Neither is the oak switch.

I am upgrading an American Fender Strat with an everything axe set wired into a Graphtech Acoustiphonic setup to get both magnetic and Piezo with tons of possibilities. I didn't want to skip on any component and buying this switch is no different. It feels great with definitive switching and definitive values from an Ohm Meter so I am not worried about bleed off. No way to know if an original fender part but like the feel. Will update if it starts acting up over time.
