Causes: Civil Rights

Mission: Child Advocates – Denver CASA advocates for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect by training diverse volunteers who create opportunities for children, youth and families to thrive. Our vision is that all children, youth and families are thriving emotionally, mentally, and physically with lifelong connections to caring and responsible adults, a permanent home, and a safe and nurturing environment where they have a sense of belonging.

Results: Each year, Denver CASA has over 300 volunteers advocating on behalf of over 550 children and youth. Their goal is to ensure that children and youth are in a safe living environment, preferably with their family of origin, and have all of the support they need to thrive. Children and youth with a CASA Volunteer have shorter court cases and are less likely to return to the system.

Programs: In 2017,225 volunteer advocates (casa volunteers) provided advocacy services to 527 abused and neglected children in denver juvenile court's dependency and neglect program.
