Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: Empowering Jamaican students to build better lives through educational and spiritual development, the Mission of our faith-based nonprofit is to work in solidarity with local church partners to deliver programs that will transform lives and support youth development on this Caribbean island.
Results: In 2017 , we have expanded our reach and now work through 9 churches in four civic parishes across western Jamaica (Westmoreland, St. James, Trelawny and St. Ann). 42 scholarships were awarded last year. All 21 of our secondary scholarship awardees have expressed interest in post secondary education. The remaining 21 are currently in post secondary programs. 11 students started their first year of college in 2017.A requirement for award of a scholarship is active participation in church and extracurricular activities at school. All students are adhering to this requirement and having a positive impact.
Target demographics: deserving high school and college students ages 12 -21.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 42 high school and college students attending over 20 schools.
Geographic areas served: Central & Western Jamaica
Programs: educational and spiritual support in the form of scholarships administered in partnership with 9 Baptist and Catholic churches in the civic parishes of Westmoreland, St. James, Trelawny and St. Ann.
