Scored this book on sale, very helpful information and can't wait to put this knowledge into practice. Living in the desert requires creative means when it comes to watering.

I have used this watering system with 8\" clay pots that I bought at Walmart. It worked very well. I used putty to seal the holes in the clay pots and some of the putty fell out. In the book, it talks about rubber stoppers for the holes. I will try this in the future. I have raised beds and it is easy to push the pots in the soil. I bought plastic saucers to cover the pots because the clay saucers were so expensive. Olla pots are also expensive. Once I filled the pots up with water, the water lasted up to five days. I live in East TN, zone 7A.
