Product Description
Traditionally, buttermilk refers to the delicious, creamy, fermented liquid left over from churning butter-but today, most commercially available buttermilk is no longer made traditionally. Instead, producers add the bacteria that would occur naturally in traditional buttermilk to pasteurized, homogenized milk.
Our organic buttermilk powder is different, though-it's made the old-fashioned way, by churning sweet cream into sweet cream butter and blending the leftover buttermilk with freshly skimmed milk, then drying the mixture into a powder which reconstitutes beautifully into a delicious, creamy liquid.
No preservatives, alkali, neutralizing agents, or other chemicals are added to our organic buttermilk-ever. Its beautiful creamy white color is a mark of its quality (overheated products often look brown or yellow); and its unique flavor makes it perfect for prepared mixes, frozen desserts, and baked goods.
Azure Market products are re-packaged by Azure for your convenience in a facility that meets Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) standards, including an approved allergen control program.
To reconstitute into buttermilk, add 3 Tbsp powder to 1 cup cold water.

This is really great, especially now that local fresh supply is all over the place, reliability-wise. Good for baking, but also for making your own ranch dressing mix.
