I waited to make a review on this pool cover to see how it did through the Michigan winter. It is durable and held up to high winds. It does allow for water and melting snow to flow through. Did not have to add as much water in spring. Keep in mind that because water does flow through cover, pool may need a little extra tlc in spring with cleaning and chemicals. However for me it was better than using a cover that did not support weight of ice and snow and tear allowing for debris to fall in pool regardless. Recommend using with pool pillow and leaf net in fall. Outperforms many other expensive models I have used in past.

This product was used along with the following items to cover my above ground pool for the winter. 8 Pack Tent Stakes Heavy Duty 12 inch Steel Tent Pegs Miloo Rubber Bungee Cords with Hooks No major rainstorms to test how porous it is, but smaller puddle did drain and/or evaporate and caused very little sagging. I do have it somewhat tight and an old beach ball in the middle to keep it from drooping to the water level in the pool.

Closed my pool today and used this cover. Two rivets feel off with very little tension stress. Some snags were in the fabric before even using. I am so dissatisfied with this product, buyer beware. I am going to have to order from other company and spend all my time again putting cover on and bunging down. I know this will not last the rugged windy winters of Wisconsin!

Unless I'm mistaken and I bought a different cover in between, this cover served us seven years, with a little help from some Gorilla Tape. The first time I used a mesh cover, it just sank into the water. Since then, I've always put a solar cover under it to support it. I cut some holes in the solar cover and attached it to the skimmer with tarp clamps and twine so that it wouldn't shift around with the wind. Next time I might try the ratchet straps or pool tree idea. I think I'll also try cover clips. I've been using 1/2 gallon milk jugs, but they're very hard on the cover, keeping it stretched tight when the water level drops. The mesh cover does let silt through, and my water is very acidic in the spring. With a solar cover under it it still gets a fair amount of debris on top, but very little water! So I can "rake" the debris off pretty easily and generally just let it go until pool opening time. I never need to syphon water out anymore.

We purchased this product solely on the expectation that it would allow water to flow though and keep only leaves, sticks, etc, on the surface. This cover is not very permeable, and now we have to throw it away with a colony of Mosquitos thriving in it. Do not waste your money; spend the money to buy something that works as advertised.
