The ALPS Mountaineering Vera Pillow is lightweight, comfortable, and is rugged enough to last many trips. The pillow is a good size when inflated, so it's comfortable. But it also collapses down to a nice, small (and light) size for packing.. The fabric is durable but still soft enough for your head. It's quick to inflate and a great addition for your overnight camping trips.

Very little noise, considering this is an inflatable pillow. I expected it to creak, crackle, and boom like a beach ball. Though it wasn't silent, it was much less bothersome than I expected. For the quietest experience, I recommend only partially filling it and tossing a t-shirt over it as a pillow-case.

Super light weight, and tiny space taker. Rolls back into the sack that is smaller than a soda can. Easy fill valve that also quickly deflates when needed. Trick is to not over fill the pillow so your head can rest in it. I like the little curve for your shoulder if you sleep on your side. It has a bit of noise to it, like putting your ear up to a balloon, better if you throw a cloth over it or a small pillow case. Very good backpacking pillow, although for regular camping I have some air pillows that also have foam inside them I really like a lot but they are not as light weight or as tiny as this quick fill, light weight, compact packing pillow. I like the bright orange, you are not going to forget it while packing up, easy to spot. I like it.

I always wanted a pillow for backpacking. This is nice quality and and the fabric has a coating that keeps your head from slipping. This style of valve makes it really easy to blow up and deflate. Happy!

Um, this isn't going to be pretty. I wanted to like it, I really did. I like how compact it is and the material is soft for my head. BUT... Cold. My head was cold. It's full of nothing but air and the air was cold so I had to wrap my fleece (inside out) to make it comfortable. Could they have put something in there that lets the air flow but isn't just a hollow cavity? It was like a balloon. 2:00 AM. My neck is at a weird angle and it woke me up. At first I didn't notice it because my jacket was wrapped around it, but it was almost flat. Okay maybe I accidentally left the opening a little ajar when I was putting it in my coat, so I blow it up to my comfort level and drift off to sleep again. (By the way, I was outdoors on a hiking trip with some friends just a week or so ago, so it's getting cold in the Uinta mountains in Utah) 4:00 AM and it's even colder, and the little is flat again. This time I checked and I could hear part of the seam was not fused properly. They do give you a repair kit! AWESOME! I brought it with me too! However, this is NOT FUN to do in the mountains, in the dark, in the cold, in the middle of the night. 6:17 AM. Flat. Need I go further?

The Alps mountaineering camping pillow is a great product. The material used is soft and does not stick to your skin when you sleep on it. It handles mild abuse, and once it is stretched out it seems to hold air well. It is formed to fit in a mummy sleeping bag but works well in other bags and travel environments. I recommend.

This is an excellent addition to any camper's kit to ensure a good nights sleep. The weight is negligible, and it packs down into a tiny case that takes up very little (334; sq?) space. If you like a stiff pillow, just fill it with more air. The plastic surface might get a bit sticky with sweat when camping in hot weather, but it has worked well the 2 times I have used it in about 50F/10C weather.

I LOVE this pillow. I should have gotten something like this a long time ago. I'm a recreational hiker and camper, and can't believe I didn't have something like this sooner, even for day hikes. This pillow packages up EXTREMELY small, which for anybody who's ever carried a hiking pack on a long trek or packed a car with camping gear knows is extremely important. It's so easy to tuck this into my pack in any little corner or pocket and take off. It inflates and deflates easy and is very easy to fold back up for storage. This has freed up so much space in my bag. I used to take along a small travel pillow on overnights, but those are always bulky and hard to squish into a bag which then takes up precious space and adds weight to your back. This thing is very comfortable to sleep on. It inflates to a pretty good size (see picture at the top of the product page) and has a large enough footprint for neck and head support which is great. I like tossing a t-shirt or something over the pillow as it gives you just a little bit of extra comfort, but it's not really necessary as it's already soft and comfortable on its own. This also seems very durable and should last for a long time. Obviously don't put any sharp objects around it, but it doesn't look like standard wear and tear will poke a hole in it anytime soon. If you need a travel pillow, even on a plane or for long car rides, this is absolutely a great pillow and I couldn't recommend it more.

ALPS Mountaineering Versa Pillow is a great product and I love the design! This little pillow and be stored in a stuff sack when not in use, and the stuff sack is small and doesn't take up too much room. More importantly when hiking/ backpacking this pillow does not weigh too much. Very easy to fill and holds the air for as long as you want. Had no issues with deflation and the material is super soft. Sometimes with these type of pillows I need a cover due to how scratchy and uncomfortable they are, but this ALPS pillow is super soft and comfortable no cover needed. Size of pillow when fully inflated is 1734; x 1234; x 534; which fits perfectly into any adult sleeping bag. I think for the price and how small and easily stored this pillow is, I think you should pick one up. Not only did we use it while hiking the Grand Canyon as a seat pillow while resting on Bright Angel Trail rest stops, we also used in the car as pillow for our 9 hour drive. Worked perfectly as a butt rest and a head rest, and it really took up very little room when storing in our gear.
