Great time saver.Works as described.NOT for cutting threads into solid metal.Restored stripped lug thread on 2008 Mustang GT in minutes with only having to remove wheel.Applied a small amount of cutting oil to lug and bit,slowly turned bit onto lug using back and forth motion through stiff areas until reaching bottom of lug then slowly removed bit.

Saved a many of wheel studs with this set. I wish they would cut a bit harder,....but they clean threads like a champ

Amazing! Saved me from replacing 3 wheel studs in my Honda odyssey. Just used this tool and wd40 to clean off metal shavings.

I bought this kit in advance to a dreaded tire rotation on my old dodge ram. My wife ripped me a new one for purchasing. 8 months later I get around to the dreaded rotation and low and behold 2 of the lug nuts start ripping threads on the rear left wheel. So I get out the ratchet, extention, and some P'blaster. I start the die slowly by hand still it meets with resistance of the ripped thread. I go over it with pressure till it passes freely over than I reverse back. You can feel the die straightening the thread. Than you blow off the metal filings around (and away from) the die, spray more oil on, keep going til the die threads and unthreads without resistance. As another reviewer stated, it doesn't work on bent studs.

Worked well a damaged wheel stud. As a atuo mechanic I can recommend this set.<br />Only minor detail is that they don't locate into the closed cell foam packaging.

i don't know why i waited so long to get these... if you change tires on your vehicles regularly, or seasonally, you know factory lugnuts are garbage.. they are soft and will cross thread your studs.. this kit takes all of 5 seconds to chase the threads with a socket and a ratchet.

The product did what it was supposed to do, my problem was the stud was bent, I didn't notice until I tried to chase it.

I really like these dies they work well. I have only used a hand full of times but the times I needed them these were the only dies in the shop of the specific size I needed. I have a few other complete die kits but these are usually not included so it's nice to have as an additional kit. 4 out of 5 stars because the case is way larger than it needs to be and the dies roll around inside but I am glad they at least come with a case. Recommended.

Same tools as you would buy from Snap On or MAC. Literally the same. Lang makes the thread restoring tools for SnapOn. Take a look on your tool truck, and compare the price.<br /><br />Wheel studs usually aren't that bad to replace, but why do it for free if you don't have to. For the price of this set, it's almost stupid not to buy it. Think of how many more expensive tools you've bought that you barely use. You probably won't use this very often, but it will be nice to have when you need it.<br /><br />Nice high quality USA made tools from Lang. I own many Lang tools, and have been very satisfied with every purchase.
